A guide to running your business · Manuals by trade

Your trade’s manual, plan by plan.

Four manuals: the four plans. What each module is, how it is used on a normal day and what you gain from it — in your business’s vocabulary, not ours.

Choose your trade

Each trade has its own manual: its modules, its limits and its vocabulary. This one is for Members’ club.

Get it running

The same content as the manual, here and with nothing to download: the setup module by module, in the vocabulary you use in your business.

Step 1 of 19

Getting started

Before you go into each module, here is what applies to the whole CRM. Kommyt is used from the browser, with nothing to install, and works the same on the office computer as on the tablet at the counter.

Signing in to your business

  • Go to app.kommyt.com and sign in with your email and password. The first time, it is worth changing your password from your profile.
  • It is the same address for every business: once you sign in, Kommyt already knows which one is yours. If your account has more than one, you can switch between them at the top.
  • Access is private: only the people the business has added as staff users can sign in. There is no public registration.

Two-step verification: required for the account holder after seven days

  • The account holder of the business must turn on two-step verification. There are seven days from when the account is set up, with full access to everything; after that deadline, any screen in the CRM leads to the page for turning it on, and you cannot carry on without doing so.
  • You do not have to wait for a reminder, but there is one: while time remains, a bar at the top of the screen shows the days left, and the last two days turn red.
  • It is turned on in two ways, with the same switch: with a code app on your phone, or by requesting a six-digit code by email, which is valid for five minutes. The email option needs nothing installed, so it is the way out if your phone cannot manage it.
  • Only the account holder is required to do this. The rest of the staff are not: their accounts still sign in with their email and password, with no extra step.

Roles: each person sees what is theirs

  • Each user has a role (administrator, counter, door, treasury…). The role decides which modules they see and what they can do: whoever is at the counter takes payments, whoever is on the door records entries, and the accounts are for whoever keeps the books.
  • If someone is missing an option, it is almost always down to their role. An administrator can adjust it under Settings › Users and roles.

How many screens at once

  • The plan does not limit how many people are registered, but how many DEVICES use Kommyt at the same time: two on Basic, four on Pro and eight on Max. You can see this under Settings › Plan, with the number currently in use.
  • Devices are what count, not people or sessions: several people taking turns on the same tablet are ONE device, and so are two tabs on the same computer. What takes up a slot is the screen, not the person using it.
  • If the limit is reached, the person currently working is NEVER logged out: the new arrival is blocked instead, and the message says which plan it is and how many are in use. It is enough to sign out on another device.
  • And the slot is freed automatically: the count is based on use during the last half hour, so closing the browser without signing out keeps the slot taken for no longer than that.

The counter device: shift mode

  • When one tablet is used by whoever is serving at the time, shift mode ties it to that person’s account: while the shift is running, that device cannot switch accounts, add another account or sign out.
  • This means that what is recorded is signed by the person who did it. The alternative — leaving the account holder’s session open — puts everything that happens during the day under their name, and also exposes the business’s accounts to whoever is at the bar.
  • You start it from your account menu, top right: “Start shift on this device”. To end it, you need the password of someone who keeps the business’s accounts, which is exactly who opens and closes shifts.
  • It does not replace permissions: what each person sees and can do is still decided by their role. The shift only stops the account being switched on that device.

Global search

  • At the top of the screen there is a search box (shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + K). Type three letters and it finds a member, a product or a CRM function without you first choosing where to search. It is the quickest way to get anywhere.

The business dashboard

  • The first screen you see when you sign in is the dashboard: it brings together what is happening right now — today’s consumption, active members, wallet balances and live counter activity. It gives you a quick view of how the day is going.

Members’ club: 19 documentation steps

Dossier · To show whoever decides

The whole programme, in one document.

What Kommyt is, the modules one by one, the four plans with their limits and what the programme checks before it lets you do something wrong. With screenshots of the CRM running, not mock-ups.

The chapter that is not written by hand

A management programme is judged by what it does when something goes wrong. The dossier shows that with the club’s real checks — the capacity full, the balance that falls short, the till that is already closed — and they are not written up: they are taken from the code itself every time the document is generated.

The screenshots come from a demo club with made-up data. The plans and limits in the document come from the same source as those on this site, so they cannot contradict it.

AI assistant · Connect your own key (BYOK)

Use AI with your own key.

The voice assistant is in the Max plan. You choose the provider and connect your API key from the CRM (Settings → AI assistant). AI is paid for at the provider, not at Kommyt: you know exactly what you are spending your money on, with no surprises.
